Licensed Interior Designer (San Jose)
Our client, a global architecture and design firm, is currently seeking an Interior Designer for their San Jose office.

Your Role
Join the San Jose studio as an Interior Designer and help create meaningful, inspiring spaces. The team delivers projects across multiple sectors—including workplace, commercial, retail, education, advanced technology, and healthcare—guided by a holistic design approach that prioritizes both user experience and community impact.
In this position, you will collaborate with a dynamic group of designers to develop environments that are both functional and visually compelling. You’ll leverage your creative vision, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to produce thoughtful design solutions. The role also provides strong opportunities to grow your professional network through engagement with industry groups and peers.
What You Will Do

Lead design assignments independently with guidance from design leadership and project management

Inspire and coordinate design teams with strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Provide technical mentorship to junior staff

Partner with project managers to execute design strategies on complex projects

Oversee interior design deliverables and coordinate closely with project leads

Manage large and specialized projects with minimal supervision

Develop creative solutions to complex design challenges

Balance multiple assignments while meeting key deadlines

Mentor and support the growth of emerging designers

Stay current on evolving design trends, tools, and technologies

Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, understanding and addressing their needs

Manage all phases of interior design, from programming through construction documentation

Prepare test fits and space planning studies

Specify and present furniture, finishes, and lighting concepts

Produce detailed construction drawings and specifications

Coordinate effectively with consultants and external partners
Your Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related discipline from an accredited institution

Minimum of 10 years of professional interior design experience after graduation

NCIDQ certification required

Advanced proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D visualization tools

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Deep knowledge of furniture systems, materials, finishes, and specifications

Excellent graphic and visualization abilities

Experience with workplace and/or hospitality environments preferred

Demonstrated commitment to sustainable design practices, including experience with LEED, WELL, or Net Zero projects
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000–$145,000, plus bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package, dependent on relevant experience.
